“Meherabad, Meherazad”

A New Rendition of Bobbi Bernstein’s “Meherabad, Meherazad” Accompanying Photos of Meherabad and Meherazad and Meher Baba from 1954 at Meherabad

This song is a favorite of many who’ve travelled to India for a Meher Baba pilgrimage.

1) I’ve just come back from a place where God’s so real
That you can feel His Love surrounding you.
I’ve just come back from a place where this age’s Avatar
Draws many from afar to one small Indian town.
For Meher Baba lived right there. Of course He’s really everywhere.
But, in this world of time and space, the Godman gives His lovers a home base.

CHORUS: Meherabad, Meherazad. Meherabad, Meherazad.

2) I’ve just come back from a place where it’s so clear
That we’re all here to love God more and more.
I’ve just come back from a place where hearts are free
Just to be united in His Love.
Time passes by so quickly there with nothing else can one compare—
A journey to the threshold of the tomb, precious moments in Baba’s room. (Chorus)

3) I must go back to that place where God’s so real
That you can feel His Love surrounding you.
I must go back to that place where tears can flow
And eyes do glow with reflections of His Presence there.
In happy innocence we’d spend the days Learning more of the Godman’s ways,
Hearing stories and sipping tea With those who served Him, personally. (Chorus)
Meherabad, Baba’s Tomb. Meherazad, Baba’s room.
