“Life is a Rainbow”

A Rendition of “Life is a Rainbow” by David Miotke sung by Jeff Wolverton

Background

The talented musician, singer, and songwriter, David Miotke, composed a hauntingly lyrical tune to underscore these intriguing lyrics. With the longing expressed in Jeff’s singing voice, and the progression of chords in this arrangement, I feel this rendition expresses the intended sentiment.

Rainbows typify what, in the world of forms, is wondrous and beautiful. Look up into the sky and, for the most part, they are nowhere to be seen. So it is with what life is really all about. God is the Source of Life. But, seeing life through our own eyes is seeing an illusion. Surrendering to the Beloved to see Life through the eyes of the One is the only way to actually see the Rainbow, symbolic for Beauty and Truth.

Lyrics

Life is a Rainbow. Life is a Rainbow. Life is a Rainbow nowhere to be seen, but through the eyes of the One—through the eyes of the one and only You.

Comes out of Nothing. Goes back into Nothing. Yet, it feels like something nowhere to be seen, but through the eyes of the One—through the eyes of the one and only You.

You are my colors. You are my colors. You are my colors of the Rainbow. You are my window, my skylight to the heavens. You are my colors of the Rainbow.

Birdsong to Rainbow. Silence to Rainbow. Sounds of my Rainbow nowhere to be seen, but through the eyes of the One—through the eyes of the one and only You.
